Max's Story...
This handsome boy is Max. Max is a 3 year old Boerboel mix. He has a great personality and he really loves treats! We are unsure of Max's background, but he came to us with a collar that was embedded in his neck so we are giving him the proper medical care necessary. Max seems to have been kept as mostly an outside dog. He'll need time to adjust and to become accustomed to life inside a house. Max knows how to sit, lay down, stay, and shake! He also has very polite leash manners! Max may take a couple of minutes to warm up to strangers, but after he is comfortable he prefers to be cuddling! His favorite activities include anything with a tennis ball and/or a tug rope! Max would do best either as the only dog or with a submissive resident dog. With a slow introduction, he may enjoy their company! He is a skinny boy right now and gets excited about his food around other dogs, so his future owner will need to help him understand how not to guard his food. Max is hoping to find a home where he can be spoiled and loved all the time! He may need a little more work put into him, but he has already improved at the shelter! Max deserves to find the best forever home, one that will show him what it's like to be loved and cared for.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Max, a Michigan City Mastiff dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Mastiff for sale in Michigan City, or seeking a Mastiff dog from a breeder in Michigan City.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Michigan City already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Michigan City breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Mastiff breeders who help with Mastiff rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Michigan City paves the way for another one to be saved.
