Linus's Story...
Linus came to the shelter in late September, along with his brothers Charlie Brown and Pigpen. Though he was initially frightened of us, he quickly learned how wonderful human hugs and kisses are. Linus is still the shyest of the three, a little hesitant to explore the cat room when we put him on the floor. He sits behind the cages for a while, but screws up his courage to go sit with one of his brothers, enjoying their kitty companionship while he waits for more human love. Because of his shy nature, Linus will need the love of a patient human to help him rediscover his inner kitten. We know he enjoys being loved -- he's just a bit unsure of his new environment, and will go through a similar transition in a new home. But we believe in Linus, and hope you will too!

Linus is about 7 months old, is box-trained, neutered, current on vaccinations, and tested negative for FIV and feline leukemia. Adoption fee is $50 (cash or check only, please). For more information on Linus, or an adoption application, email ClayvilleCritters@cox.net, call the shelter at (401) 647-7200, or visit the shelter during regular hours: Tue, Wed, Fri 7 to 11 a.m., Thursday 6 to 9 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Linus, a Clayville Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Clayville, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Clayville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Clayville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Clayville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Clayville paves the way for another one to be saved.
