Beau came to SoCo after being found abandoned at a construction work site. He was frail, malnourished and limping badly on one of his rear legs. Despite his obvious neglect and need for help, Beau was friendly and welcomed our assistance.
Since being at SoCo Rescue, Beau has received all of his basic vet care, which includes being neutered. An examination and x-rays revealed that Beau had been shot and his backside and rear leg still have the tiny BB type balls in them, causing his limp. There's really no way to removed the tiny "bird-shot" pellets and Beau will have to live with the results of someone's cruelty shown towards him. He also tested positive for heart worms but our vet thinks his level of infection is considered "low". Beau has been under the "Slow-Kill" method of treating heart worms.
Beau is estimated at being 1 1/2 to 2 years old. He is very people friendly and simply loves human interaction. Because of his size and level of energy, we'd recommend a home without small children. Beau has been selective with which dogs he is friendly with and we're not sure how he'll be around cats.
