Rusty's Story...
This handsome heartthrob is Rusty -- and he will steal your heart away quickly! Rusty had a tough time being left in a shelter when his owner became ill. He had always been the apple of his mama's eye, and there he was all alone. Rusty took a little time to get used to his foster home and now is a happy little man with a big, loving greeting whenever he sees his foster parents! Rusty is 9 pounds of tender love. He's said to be 12 years but does not have much gray at all for a red doxie! He's a quiet, well-mannered boy with good potty habits. Rusty gets along with the dogs in his foster home but would be very happy to have a human or two to call his own. His favorite way to spend his time is on your lap! Please reach out and/or submit an application to adopt at Rusty's adoption fee is $200 to help rescue.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rusty, a Andalusia Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Andalusia, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Andalusia.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Andalusia already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Andalusia breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Andalusia paves the way for another one to be saved.
