Blackie, - Black Male,  2 years old, 66 lbs.

Hi there! My name is Blackie and I am very pleased to meet you! Are you looking for a sweet and gentle furry friend who loves to be with his people? If so, we should talk, because I am looking for a loving family where I can be close to my people and share my love! I recently had some sad stuff happen to me – my old family moved away and instead of taking me and my Labrador sister with them, we were left behind at this scary place called a shelter. Oh gosh, I was so frightened. I didn’t really understand why we were left behind so I just curled up in a ball and shook with fear…then one day this really nice lady came and petted me gently and asked if I wanted to go for a ride. I did not hesitate – yes please – get me out of here!! Turns out this nice lady is a LRRF angel and she took me to this incredible place called a foster home – now I am no longer afraid and can relax knowing I am safe and sound with my foster family. I sleep on a warm doggie bed next to my foster parents bed, play fetch with my four-legged foster siblings, and get lots of love! It is time for me to find my forever family though, so my foster family can help save another Labbie in need, so let’s see if it may be with you!

I am a well-mannered boy – I am house trained and know how to use a doggie door when nature calls. I have polite house-manners and have free reign in my foster home. I love other dogs of all sizes and really love to play fetch with a tennis ball! I can be a bit shy and sensitive when I meet new people, but once I feel comfortable, I warm up quickly and will give you all of my love. I got very sad when I lost my family, so I am still learning to let new people into my heart. I promise with a bit of patience, you will be rewarded with a lifetime of loyalty and companionship! I love to go on walks and have good leash manners. My foster mom is even teaching me some commands. She says I am a smarty pants and learn very quickly – I would love to continue learning new tricks with you! I am a loyal and loving Labbie who will always be there for you through the good times and the bad – I promise to be your best friend forever!

Blackie is a loving and sensitive soul who absolutely adores his people. He can be shy at first meeting new people, but warms up with a gentle pet and kind words. He is very devoted to his people once he feels comfortable and would love to find a forever home where his people are home more often than not. He absolutely loves other dogs, both big and small, and is very playful and social. He is the first to grab the tennis ball for a game of fetch! Blackie has quickly picked up new commands from his foster family and would love to go to training classes with his new family so they could continue to learn together.
