Facts about Blaze

  • Breed: German Shorthaired Pointer
  • Color: Brown/Chocolate - With White
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
  • Sex: Male
  • ID#: 10672547

Blaze was relinquished by two previous owners.  The first owner had him for 5 years and then moved into a trailer court with no yard and gave him to another couple.  The new couple had him for 4 months.  He was relinquished to our care due to him scaling their 4 foot fence and going after some of their sheep.  He is said to have quite the hunting instinct.

Blaze is a 5 1/2 years old German Shorthaired Pointer and AKC registered.  He is neutered and current on vaccinations.  He has lots of energy and will require alot of exercise or country living with animals he will not hurt.  He has had little to no training and will require a leader with training experience.  He destroys all bedding and toys, so a black kong is about the only toy he can be given.

If you would like to meet Jasper, please contact Chris at 319-202-8153.

The adoption fee is $175 unless otherwise stated. The fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lymes test, heartworm and flea preventative, testing and treatment for a variety of intestinal parasites and vaccinations.

Breed Disclosure: Due to the fact that most of our adoptable pets are strays, we cannot guarantee their breed. We list the pet’s breed as the one that best matches the physical appearance, temperament, and personality of the animal. The pet may also be listed as a mix when it’s actually a purebred.

Our Adoption Process...

*Most of our dogs' adoption fees are $175 unless stated otherwise. Our cat adoption fees are $75. We have an all volunteer staff so your entire fee goes towards saving AWF's rescue animals. If your donation covers that pet's medical costs, then the remainder of your donation will go towards helping save another homeless pet!
.
*All Pets in the adoptive home must be up to date on vaccinations and spayed and/or neutered.
