Dobby was a stray puppy found in Wake Forest, NC in July, currently about 7-10 months. We have been fostering him and attempting to get him to a place of wellness and stability following what appeared to be some rough months -- he was underfed and malnourished and had several dog bites when he came to us. He has turned into a sweet, energetic and well-fed beauty, with a bright white coat, golden eyes and patches of tan fur on his back. He does, however, still seem to harbor some resentment toward other dogs for his rough early treatment – he would be best placed in a home without other dogs as he becomes aggressive around them out of a fear-based reaction. We have been working with him on this behavior, but it may take some time and dedication on behalf of his new parent. He does live well alongside our senior pug and three cats, but I think Dobby would thrive as the sole four-legged receiver of attention.
Dobby entertains himself well and enjoys his chew treats or destroying plush toys. He has incredibly soulful eyes, adores people (young and old), loves to cuddle on the couch, and is highly intelligent, having already learned several commands. Maybe every foster mom feels like her fur-kid is the smartest, but I really feel that he could be an exceptional dog, trained to be a service animal in some capacity. He is still not fully housebroken but aims for the puppy pads and knows that when he’s outside, it’s time to get down to business. He has been neutered and has received several rounds of vaccinations (all vet records will be handed over upon adoption).
Dobby is living in Wake Forest, NC. His adoption fee is $100. Please email: firstname.lastname@example.org to apply or for more information.
