My name is Sidney, but what I really want to be called is yours and I'll bet you a truck full of milk bones that I can wiggle my way into your heart!  I had a ruff start to life but I am so excited to come to DC with my 8 siblings (yes, 8!) and find my forever home. Right now I'm just a lil' gal but I'll be getting bigger!

I would love to spend these fall days rompin' around smellin' all the leaves and then snuggling up nice and warm with my forever family! I get so excited just thinkin' bout it I can't stop my tail from wagglin'!! I am fully vaccinated, so I'm ready to go on walks and go to the dog park too! I'd love to pass the day playing with some canine buddies!

Just remember, I'm a jubilant young boy, so I'll need someone keepin' an eye out for me during the day.  I'm bummed to say if you work a 9-5 job outside the home, I may not be the best fit for you and if you want to adopt you'll need to provide proof of a multi-times a day dog walker to come visit me while you are gone!

I wanna grow up to be a well-mannered gentleman, so you'll need to get me some puppy schoolin' so I can have the absolute best manners!

Due to a puppy's need for attention and frequent bathroom excursions, we do not adopt dogs under 5 months of age to homes where no one is home during the day. This means no 9-5ers, unless you commit to hiring a dog walker to come multiple times a day.

Due to his young age, Sidney has not yet been neutered.  As part of the adoption contract, it will be your responsibility, as the adopter, to ensure that this is done no later than 12/15/16.

Like most puppies, Sidney will need to work on his housetraining. He will also need to go to obedience school so he can grow into a well-socialized dog!

The adoption fee for this dog is $400, which includes the cost of routine vetting and transport from the shelter. If you are interested in adopting, please download our Adoption Questionnaire and email it to Megan at!

About Lucky Dog Animal Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Lucky Dog Animal Rescue is a group of highly motivated and highly dedicated volunteers. We spend countless hours making sure that wonderful dogs find loving forever homes. We don't do it for money -- we do it for the joy a dog can bring to its new family; we do it for our love of animals; and we do it to save lives!

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our adoption events are held each weekend. A schedule of times and locations can be found at

Our Adoption Process...

The adoption process begins when you submit an adoption application either online or at an adoption event. The individual responsible for the dog you are interested in adopting - a position we call the “adoption coordinator” - will then set up a time to discuss your application over the telephone. The adoption coordinator will check your vet reference to make sure all current and past pets were kept up-to-date with their shots and medical care. The adoption coordinator will also set up a home visit with one of our trained volunteers. That individual will come to your home to ensure that it is a safe environment, to confirm that everyone in the home is on board with adopting a dog, and to discuss any other questions you may have about dog adoption!
