Hi friends! My name is Degan and I might be the most fun dog you have ever met. Because I am young, I’m still small, but what I lack in size I make up for in fun. My dream home is one with lots of toys; hopefully ropes, balls, bones, and stuffed things to rip apart. I’ve been on my best behavior and haven’t touched a single thing in my foster home that wasn’t mine - only my toys. I have no problem going into the crate and my foster parents have started trusting me at home alone not in the crate for short periods. It took me a few short days to get the hang of that doggy door but now I’m a pro and go potty outside by myself.

Do you like to run? Hike? Bike? Swim? Because I love all those things. Somedays I’m better on a leash than others but maybe if my foster mom would stop trying to slow me down then we’d do better. I like it on the days she takes me for a 3 mile run and I’d be a really good running buddy for someone. I LOVE the water. I hear this is a strange thing for my boxer breed but I just can’t help it. I love to play in streams, rivers, and lakes. I might even jump in the shower with you, if you don’t mind.

I'm a little slow with intros to new people but have liked all of the ones I have met. I like the other dogs I’ve met and currently live with in my foster home but they are pretty dull and old. They don’t play with me so I play by myself. My foster sister likes to wrestle but I’m not really sure how to do that so I just do my own thing. I start off slow with other dogs but haven’t had any problems.

I tried a few homes when I was in the shelter but they were short stays. I don’t know what they expected from a bouncy, trouncy, flouncy, pouncy fun fun fun fun FUN guy like myself. I like kids, especially ones who like tug-of-war but as a fair warning: I’ll probably knock over the smaller ones. I don’t mind being poked, petted, and pulled on. Although I’m on the move a lot, I am a pro at my commands even without a treat. I know how to sit, shake, down, roll over and occasionally listen to the ‘off’ command.

I’m just a happy little guy looking for a fun and active family with room to play. If you feel you can give me the right home, please head over!adoption-form/c1dw9 and start the application process. I'm ready to start my new adventures!

About Northwest Boxer Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Northwest Boxer Rescue (NWBR) believes that every boxer deserves a chance to live a happy life in a loving home. Abandoned or homeless Boxers will always find shelter, medical care, and ultimately a new home through the efforts of NWBR. By working with committed volunteers and local veterinarians we are able to rescue boxers every year, provide them with loving temporary care, and find them perfect loving forever homes. Working in conjunction with city and county groups, NWBR strives to educate the public and help end animal overpopulation and needless suffering. The commitment to share the love of Boxers is never ending.

We never discriminate on the basis of health or age. Our animals are evaluated, vaccinated, spayed or neutered and receive any necessary medical treatment before they are placed in carefully screened homes.
