Cozmo is an absolute delight! This long-legged beauty is approximately 6-months-old and weighs 12 pounds. We anticipate that he will stay about the same size but could benefit from another pound or two. He is fun-loving, and absolutely adores his foster family. Cozmo comes to us as an owner surrender after animal control was called on his family by a neighbor. Sadly, Cozmo was left outside with barely any water or food and was seen being abused by the teenage son. Animal control was going to remove the dog when the neighbor stepped in and asked if he could be surrendered to a rescue...and here we are! The first day, Cozmo was scared and timid of new people, but now he is a whole new dog who seems to have forgot his horrific start to life. He loves meeting new people and although shy for about 10 seconds, he warms up instantly. He adores children and loves to play with other dogs. He is a snuggler like no other and has attached himself with pure loyalty to his foster mom. He does well in his crate, but gets to sleep with his human foster sibling at night. He is such a sweet dog and will make his forever family so happy! **Due to his previously poor diet and lack of flea meds he is missing some fur and is underweight. We anticipate his fur around his paws will grow in beautifully in a few months time. This poor little guy was very neglected in his short life.

We think he will do best in a home with children or an active family who wants a dog to accompany them on adventures. This compact, yet tall guy will make an excellent hiking partner. He does fantastic with other energetic dogs, but doesn't necessary need another dog so long as het gets exercise every day. He is mixed with poodle but has terrier fur. He is being fostered in home with children in Bellevue.

His adoption fee is $500. He is neutered, micro chipped, fully vaccinated (DHPP, rabies, bordetella), heart worm tested (negative), health certified, flea and tick treated and de-wormed.

Please email for more information and to setup a meet and greet. Application must be filled out PRIOR to meet and greet.

About Down Dog Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Down Dog rescue was established in 2012 after the founders first rescue dog, Harley, passed away from old age. Courtney McFarlane adopted Harley when she was just 17-years-old sparking a life long commitment and love toward saving dogs. Down Dog is dedicated to rescuing highly adoptable dogs from death row and placing them into loving forever homes. We believe every dog deserves a second chance and we feel blessed to live in region where dog adoption and rescue outweighs breeding. We are proud that our death row dogs are now happily living in Seattle spending their days accompanying their owners to work, boating around the Puget Sound and romping around dog parks.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Down Dog Rescue is a foster based rescue located in Seattle, Washington. Each one of our dogs is placed in foster care until they are adopted. Our fosters typically live in various neighborhoods in Seattle and Bainbridge Island. We setup meet and greets for potential adapters in their own homes, or the homes of foster parents. Occasionally we will meet at a dog park for the initial visit.

Our Adoption Process...

Thank you for choosing adoption! We are dedicated to placing our dogs into the right family. We require adoption applications to be filled out and completed prior to meet and greets, a Veterinarian or personal reference check and home visits before adoptions are complete. We also require our adopters to fill out adoption contracts and we reserve the right to place dogs in a two week trial to assure dog is going to the right home. We are open to all types of living situations. Our fees range from $150-275 depending on age.
