Lady is a sweet old dachshund mix (probably twelve years old) whose world has been turned upside down.  Her human dad died recently, and her mom had to move into an apartment where Lady was not allowed to go. She misses her family, but she is making the best of her situation. She is friendly, gets along with other dogs and cats, and loves attention.  When a volunteer couple took her for a walk on the grounds around the shelter, she was so happy that she bounced when she walked as she wagged her tail and looked all around.  Lady is a good dog who was surrendered through no fault of her own.  She weighs 22 pounds, a bit on the chubby side, and she loves to sit up on her haunches like a human.  There must be a compassionate family who will give this sweet girl a home for the rest of her years.  She will give much devotion in return.

Our Adoption Process...

All potential adopters should meet dogs/cats wanted for adoption. No animals will leave the shelter without being spayed/neutered, including those going to rescue. You are asked to fill out an adoption application which will be reviewed by the director of the shelter (a vet reference is needed). If approved the shelter staff will contact you and schedule an appointment with our vet to have the animal altered. The adoption fee is paid and the adoption contract signed before the scheduled surgery date. The process can be as soon as the following day or as long as a week depending on the vet's schedule. The adoption fee depends on the age, sex, if they fixed, etc. ranging from $5.00 to $68.00.
