Handsome Beau is a special pup that just needs a different place in life away from a sibling that he has grown up with and lives in his shadow.  This Shepherd mix boy is a mere 11 months old and weighs just 38 pounds.  He is a reserved dog in some ways and in other ways is open to the world and embraces life with a really happy attitude.  When you say the word smart about a dog then you are definitely defining Beau and his ability to learn commands and tricks in an instant; just a snap of the finger and Beau 'gets it'.  Beau has been raised with young and active children and his dog sibling that has perhaps overshadowed some of Beau's best traits and development in life.  He is truly a dog that needs to be with a family of older children or an active couple who will not be having young children for a long time...or least not in Beau's lifetime.  He is fine with and nice to them, but the current family has determined he would be happier without all the activity and craziness that the young crowd brings.  He likes his space and quiet time better.  He is great with other dogs, loves to swim, is a great outdoorsy type of dog that loves to hike or run.  He chases balls and sticks with a great deal of enjoyment and he is great on a leash for a leisurely afternoon walk.  Beau needs and owner who is willing to make him feel comfortable and let him play with other dogs.  He is a social dog and craves the play time.  He is very good and respectful of other dogs and would mix well with another family dog, but would be best with a family that does not have young active children.   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or

About Critter Cavalry Rescue New England - CT

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a dedicated group of rescue volunteers who desire to find loving homes for animals who have been placed in shelters and are in grave danger of euthanasia. Our heart's desire is to provide you with a loving companion for many years to come.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We are a full volunteer rescue organization. All of our animals are kept in loving foster homes, receiving the best care possible. A completed application must be submitted and approved to meet with our dogs/pups. A completed application helps us determine compatibility and also helps us to ensure a successful adoption.

Our Adoption Process...

Most all our dogs are fostered in Tennessee and transport up to the Northeast or New England. Our fees start at $500 and can be higher depending on the dog and circumstances for their vetting. All fees cover the health certificate, transportation up to designated places for families to pick up their pre-adopted dog, spay/neuter, rabies, all shots, fecal and dewormings, microchip, complete vet check up and 4 way heartworm test if dogs are older than 8 months.
