Carrie was brought to the shelter 9/16/16 as a stray.  She is a bit shy and has become one of our free roaming shelter cats.  She spends her days keeping warm in the drawer under the dryer.  She is very unhappy and nervous at the shelter and she is licking her legs raw because of the stress.  She really needs a loving home ASAP!

About Ritchie County Humane Society

About Our Shelter...

Our shelter is staffed by only 2 employees so we greatly depend on volunteers to help care for our animals.
We work very closely with rescue groups to help move our dogs out of the shelter quickly. Our goal is to never have to euthanize for space. We cannot do that without rescue assistance because our adoption rates are very low.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our hours are Monday-Saturday 10 AM - 3 PM and Sunday 10 AM - 12 PM.

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption process is fairly straight forward. We will need you to email us for an adoption application. Once the application is submitted and approved you are able to adopt.
For a spayed/neutered dog the cost is $100 (This cost could be more depending on the money we have invested in the dog.)
For an non spayed/neutered dog the cost is $50 plus a $50 refundable deposit. The deposit is refunded if your dog is altered within 30 days. (Per WV law, all animals adopted from a shelter must be altered within 30 days.)
For a spayed/neutered cat the cost is $30.
For a non spayed/neutered cat the cost is $10. (These costs could change without notice.)
