Celeste's Story...
Meet Celeste, a complete lap cat who is very loving and affectionate. She definitely likes just hanging out with people, but she also loves to play. Until she arrived at her foster home, she seemed not to know what toys were, but she’s having great fun finding out. She loves action toys like the laser pointer and the motion toy that goes in circles, and she’s delighted to know there are so many more toys still to discover. She likes to perch on a sunny windowsill and watch the birds outside but is content in her new indoor environment and is growing more confident every day.

It is not yet known how Celeste gets on with dogs, however, she would be happiest as the only Kitty Queen of the house.

Celeste arrived injured to the Prince George's County Animal Shelter and came to 4Paws in mid-September 2016. After receiving medical care for her injuries, she is healthy and happy and ready to find her forever home. Her right eye could not be saved, unfortunately, but Celeste gets by just fine with one gorgeous green eye.

Celeste was born in August 2014. She is spayed, micro chipped, and current on all her vaccinations. She has tested negative for FIV/FeLV.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Celeste, a Merrifield Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Merrifield, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Merrifield.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Merrifield already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Merrifield breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Merrifield paves the way for another one to be saved.
