Marshmallow's Story...
Marshmallow is a gentle 10 year old Bichon mix that has lived his entire life as a breeding dog. His owner was finally finished with him and was going to have him euthanized. There were a lot of kind people that weren't going to let that happen. Marshmallow and some of his friends made it here to Friendship and are now looking for their first real homes where they can be loved and live in dignity. These dogs may not know much but they are very sweet and enjoy human contact. They are looking for patient families with quieter homes that will give them the lives they've never had. They would be wonderful companion pets.

If you have kids and/or another dog in your family and are interested in adopting a Friendship dog please bring them with you for a meet and greet. No appointment is necessary. Stop by anytime during regular business hours.

All dogs receive one or more vaccinations, a basic veterinary examination, are wormed, heartworm tested and spayed or neutered. Dogs 3 months and older are micro-chipped.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Marshmallow, a Elyria Bichon Frise dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Bichon Frise for sale in Elyria, or seeking a Bichon Frise dog from a breeder in Elyria.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elyria already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elyria breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Bichon Frise breeders who help with Bichon Frise rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elyria paves the way for another one to be saved.
