My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Maxey! This adorable little fluff ball is an 8lb, 10 year old Shetland Sheepdog. He is cute as a button and is full of life and love. Even though he is 10, he acts like a much younger dog and his foster raves about him.

Maxey is also super snuggly. If you stop petting or cuddling with him he will start nudging you until you start again. He is just the cutest. He also loves going on adventures outside, is fantastic with all other dogs, has some adorable couch potato moments, and is still very playful! He gets especially excited when he know he is going out for a walk or getting food.

Maxey is also house trained but will use pee pads if you are not able to walk him during the day. He is not a barker, is crate trained, is fantastic in the car, and is adjusting to his foster home amazingly. He does shy away if talked to loudly since he came from a rough past but other than that you would never know this dog has ever seen any sadness. He even knows some tricks like come and sit!

he is truly an incredible dog and will make a fantastic companion for any family (because of the loud noise thing though, we would prefer a home without very young children).

**Please note that our dogs may be located in foster homes around NJ and the NYC area. It would be a great help to us if you can pick up your dog from transport, which is centrally located from Northern NJ and NYC, or foster home.**

**PLEASE INCLUDE YOUR PHONE NUMBER IN YOUR INQUIRY** We put a lot of time and energy into processing our adoptions to find our babies the best fit home for them. Please do not submit an inquiry if you are not serious about adopting. We are so excited to work with you to find you a new forever friend, and appreciate you working with us. For immediate consideration, please attach your application to the initial inquiry to help us expedite the process.

Our adoption fee is $475. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention and travel expenses.

All of our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where it is kept for a minimum of 2 weeks for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. After the 2 week quarantine time they are spayed/neutered and fully vetted. They are then placed on the website. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested in it, we make arrangements with the waiting foster to pick the animal up from the airport to then meet with the potential adopter. Thank you in advance for your patience with our process and for making adoption YOUR option!
