Our rescue will be at the Palo Alto Pet Food Express Saturday, October 22nd from 1-4pm and Sunday, October 23rd from 12-3pm. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated and microchipped.
* If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. * We do not have a facility. All dogs live in foster homes. Arrangements to meet dogs occur after an approved application has been accepted. * We do not ship our dogs for any reason. * Our adoption fee is $400 for each dog/puppy. * If it is on a weekend of our adoptions, follow us on @DPSRescue on Twitter to get real time updates on our adoptions. We will also post at the end of the evening the names of those dogs who have been adopted: www.facebook.com/DPSRescue
This dog will be at Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday, October 22nd from 1-4pm and Sunday, October 23rd from 12-3pm or until adopted. However, we do meet with those who submit an application and are approved just prior to the event (by invitation only) and they are given the first opportunity to adopt. If you are interested in one of our dogs, we recommend filling out an application prior to the event to be considered. Applications submitted within 24 hours of the event may not necessarily be reviewed.
Mimi is a 7 year old Morkie (Maltese-Yorkie) mix who has a non-shedding coat. She has recently been groomed and her coat will grow out but it won't grow unending. So if you like more of the shaggy beachy look then she can have that too where she won't need to be groomed regularly. Mimi came into our rescue from a home that truly loved her. They were moving and couldn't find affordable housing for the humans and the canines. It was very obvious from the conversation with her previous owner that this was a well loved dog. She lived with another dog as well (Ghost). Mimi is an option to go to a home with a cat as well. She currently lives with a cat.
Mimi is a total lap dog. She is a cuddler and a snuggler. If given her choice, she'd love nothing more than to hang out with her foster mom all day long. Mimi likes to curl up in her bed under her desk. She likes to sit next to her foster mom at the end of the day on the couch. As her foster mom unwinds from a busy day, Mimi is just what the Dr. ordered. She is sweet and loving. She's not needy. She isn't demanding. She will follow her around but if you tell her to go hang out in her bed, then she'll do that...Otherwise she isn't usually underfoot.
Mimi joined the other dogs in her foster home and they became fast friends. But she also is a great option to be be someone's one and only dog. Mimi isn't a barker. She is crate trained. Mimi could easily go to work with Mom and Dad. She could live in an apartment or condo setting.
Mimi is an option for a home that has kids over the age of 10. She is only an option for a home that has had a dog in the last 3 years.
**Not all of our dogs go to each adoption event. We want to make sure if you are interested in a dog that we have the dog at adoptions but that can only happen if you fill out an application ahead of time and are pre-approved. (Generally this must happen prior to the weekend)
**If you are wanting to submit an application within 24 hours of an event, please print off the application and bring with you as well as submitting it. You may still submit it and if time and volunteers permit, we will contact you. Most applications submitted the weekend of adoptions are not responded to until after the adoption weekend.
