***** AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION NOW ***** neutered male ~4 yrs old 70.4 pounds Bordatella given 9/14/16 ALT ID# 10-13-16 15 10/13/2016 - OWNER TURN IN, PER PREVIOUS OWNER: Parker has been an indoor and outdoor dog. He is good in the home other that getting into the trash. Housebroken when he is inside. He did like to play with the kids outside and loves toys. He is being turned in due to attacking another dog that has been around the household a lot. The two dogs were playing with a toy together and Parker turned onto the other dog that was a pit bull. They believe that he would due best in a home without other dogs. He would like to play with the kids and toys but the owner is concerned for their safety. Parker will not listen to commands and does not like to be bossed around. It sounds as though he is in need of some additional training to help him learn some additional manners. CS Behaviors noted by previous adopter have not been seen by shelter staff during either intake. Peter Parker may be best as an only dog or only with larger dogs, it was reported that he became possesive over a toy with a smaller dog.

All adopters must submit an adoption application for review and approval. When multiple adopters are interested in the same animal, approved applicants will be placed into a lottery, which will be drawn the morning the pet becomes available for adoption. AVAS staff will work with interested adopters/rescuers to determine the best placement for animals in our care. The priority will be placement into a permanent loving home.

Adoption fees:

Cats: $35 Includes: Spay/Neuter, free well pet check (participating veterinarians), first vaccine, and an educational adoption packet

Animal Rescue Organizations or individuals forming a group to rescue animals that do not have a tax-exempt 501(c)3 status may contact AVAS staff for pre-approval of an Animal Rescue Organization Agreement (valid for 1-year). Terms outlined in agreement.

Microchips can also be purchased for owned animals for $20.00.

A microchip is a life-long form of identification that can never be lost or misplaced like traditional collars and tags. Microchips help us to get animals back to their owners even months after they have given up hope!
