Our rescue will be at the Palo Alto Pet Food Express Saturday, October 22nd from 1-4pm and Sunday, October 23rd from 12-3pm. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated and microchipped.
* If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. * We do not have a facility. All dogs live in foster homes. Arrangements to meet dogs occur after an approved application has been accepted. * We do not ship our dogs for any reason. * Our adoption fee is $400 for each dog/puppy. * If it is on a weekend of our adoptions, follow us on @DPSRescue on Twitter to get real time updates on our adoptions. We will also post at the end of the evening the names of those dogs who have been adopted: www.facebook.com/DPSRescue
This dog will be at Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday, October 22nd from 1-4pm and Sunday, October 23rd from 12-3pm or until adopted. However, we do meet with those who submit an application and are approved just prior to the event (by invitation only) and they are given the first opportunity to adopt. If you are interested in one of our dogs, we recommend filling out an application prior to the event to be considered. Applications submitted within 24 hours of the event may not necessarily be reviewed.
Ghost is a 1 year old Mini Poodle-Bichon mix. He weighs 10.6lbs. He has a non-shedding coat that is an option for those who have allergies or simply want a dog who doesn't shed. He will require regular grooming. His previous home did take care of him so he has a beautiful coat which is something we don't normally encounter. We did have him groomed (just touched up!) and he did wonderfully at the groomers. They loved him!
Ghost previously lived with another dog (Mimi) and he came into the rescue and instantly made friends with others. He's a social type of guy. He's an option to go to the dog park or doggy day camp. He could easily go to work with Mom or Dad. He loves to play with boys. He also loves to play with all the toys in the toy box. He was very excited to meet that toy box at his foster home.
Ghost is not a nuisance barker. He could easily live in an apartment or condo setting. This is a great dog. He's a perfect balance of energy and playfulness and calm, hanging out and just loving on his people. He's not full throttle. He's a young dog who will need some activity but not so much that it will wear out his people. This is a dog who can go out and play with the kids or go on a long walk or hike with Mom and Dad then come snuggle on the couch watching TV at night. Want a dog who can be a co-pilot picking up the kids from school? Well, that's Ghost. Want a dog who can go to soccer games or football practice? You picked the right one!
Ghost is an option to go to a home with cats.
Ghost is an option to go to a home with kids who are over the age of 7. He is an option to go to a home that has had a dog in the last 5 years.
**Not all of our dogs go to each adoption event. We want to make sure if you are interested in a dog that we have the dog at adoptions but that can only happen if you fill out an application ahead of time and are pre-approved. (Generally this must happen prior to the weekend)
**If you are wanting to submit an application within 24 hours of an event, please print off the application and bring with you as well as submitting it. You may still submit it and if time and volunteers permit, we will contact you. Most applications submitted the weekend of adoptions are not responded to until after the adoption weekend.
