Paityn Pokes's Story...
Precious Paitlyn is only 8 months old and is the sweetest little thing. She has a way of just melting into your arms and everyone just loves her big ears!!! She is still working on learning to do her business outside and she does go outside sometimes, but if you can't catch her in time, she will happily potty on a blanket or dog bed. She is however, totally crate trained. She only fusses when she hears her foster mom's alarm go off in the morning. She gets along well with all dogs. She's been going to doggy day care where her foster mom works, at "Gimmie A Bark" and she has done very well there. Paitlyn is a little shy when first meeting new people or animals but she warms up quickly. She loves playing with balls or tug toys and chewing on bones (and sometimes other things she finds.) She walks very well on a leash and will make a great addition to the right family that has the time to spend with her, working on house breaking and keeping her puppy energy engaged.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Paityn Pokes, a Houston Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Houston, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
