This sweet and engaging Norfolk Terrier/Cairn Terrier mix is starting out with great energy...the excellent results of his temperament-testing ended with a transport ticket to Colorado and a new life. Mike is also incredibly beautiful...with a scruffy golden coat that speaks of his Terrier lineage.
Mike is appropriately playful and inquisitive for his young age. He's so smart and very engaging...so typical of both the Norfolk and Cairn breeds . He's also bright and so loving...clearly having no memory of his scary start.
Since Mike is just a baby, he's a blank slate just waiting for a kind and patient human to show him the way. He has all the potential in the world to be an awesome companion - he will form firm bonds with his family (as well as other dogs & humans) and learn positive socialization skills through Puppy kindergarten followed by positive reinforcement group Obedience Classes. It does take time (once a week for an hour) and commitment...yet pays off a thousand times over when you have a dog that can accompany you in the world with appropriate behavior.
We're open to Mike finding his forever home with a very active retired couple or individual with lots of energy to train and enjoy a puppy. He would thrive on being the center of attention and would return your love a thousand times over.
Mike is great with children of all ages but we would prefer to place him in a home with older kids that will be very gentle and understand that Mike is just a baby. If Mike has kind and loving children in his family, he will develop a deep love for kids and he definitely has the temperament to be a loyal, fun and very loving best friend.
Mike will be up to date on his vetting. We're hoping that he will be neutered when he arrives from Texas, however a very young puppy like Mike is often deemed too young to fix. If this is the case, Farfel's will cover all costs for Mike to be neutered in Denver to be in line with our commitment to be a part of the solution to pet overpopulation.
Mike will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Friday 10/21/16. If interested in this very sweet and fun-loving best friend, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to firstname.lastname@example.org or fax to 303-443-7730.
