Meet Enzo! He was seized from his previous owner after being left outside during a heat wave with no water, food or shelter. The owner signed him over to animal control rather than fight to keep him. We cannot, for the life of us, imagine why. Enzo is, simply put, incredible, and everyone who meets him falls instantly in love. He is about a year old, and he is the cuddliest GSD ever! He is all the words you want to hear a GSD called: sweet, loving, fun, handsome, smart, goofy. And a bit of a clumsy, wrecking ball! He is what we call bombproof...good with people of all ages, other dogs and cats. He has lived with a fun-loving male GSD, a snarky female GSD, a grumpy cat and a kitty who likes to tease dogs. At the moment, his current foster home includes two large, male GSDs. He has met children and was very well-behaved. He isn't a huge fan of the crate, but it doesn't matter becuase he can be trusted (most of the time...after all, he is young!) to be left alone. Enzo had recent surgery for elbow dysplasia, and he is healing well. Honestly, it hasn't slowed him down at all! He also has hip dysplasia, like so many other GSDs, but it doesn't seem to trouble him. We take the "treat the dog, not the X-rays" approach and have found that HD is very easily managed. Enzo gets grain-free food, a quality joint supplement and Adequan injections. If you are interested in making him part of your family and are in MD, VA or NC, you can complete an adoption application at www.southeastgermanshepherdrescue.com. Please be sure to read the FAQ section. Enzo is being fostered in Poquoson, VA.
