Jimmy's Story...
My name is Jimmy and I am loving life! My foster family totally spoils me! I get all the food I want, all the treats I want and all the pets I want. Yup, life is pretty sweet, but my life before this was pretty scary.

It was a pretty close call. Me and my brothers and sisters were abandoned and animal control picked us up and brought us to this place called the shelter. It was pretty scary, all those other upset animals, lonely and frightened and crying. I didn't know what was going to happen to me. I am SOOOOO happy and grateful! THANK YOU HHPP ANGELS! YAY!!!!

I am safe and free and have a second chance at life! HHPP decided to name me "Jimmy" in honor of a special benefactor whose amazing generosity is making it possible for me and other abandoned dogs to have a second chance at a happy life. HHPP are my Angels, but he is my hero. THANK YOU! I am proud to have your name!

Right now I just feel happy. Happy to be safe, happy to be alive, happy to have a second chance.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jimmy, a Houston Dachshund/Australian Terrier puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund/Australian Terrier for sale in Houston, or seeking a Dachshund/Australian Terrier puppy from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund/Australian Terrier breeders who help with Dachshund/Australian Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
