Facts about Jimmy
Breed: Dachshund/Australian Terrier Mix
Color: Black - With White
Size: Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less
Hello World! My name is Jimmy and I just got saved! It was a pretty close call. Me and my brothers and sisters were abandoned and animal control picked us up and brought us to this place called the shelter. It was pretty scary, all those other upset animals, lonely and frightened and crying. I didn't know what was going to happen to me. I am SOOOOO happy and grateful! THANK YOU HHPP ANGELS! YAY!!!! I am safe and free and have a second chance at life! HHPP decided to name me 'Jimmy' in honor of a special benefactor whose amazing generosity is making it possible for me and other abandoned dogs to have a second chance at a happy life. HHPP are my Angels, but he is my hero. THANK YOU! I am proud to have your name! Right now I am at my foster home while things get arranged for me and I visited the doctor and got a checkup. Once I get a little rest, I'll be ready to tell you more about me. Right now I just feel exhausted and happy. Happy to be safe, happy to be alive, happy to have a second chance. Thank you everyone at HHPP for making me so happy! -- Love Jimmy P.S. Because I'm such a baby, I will not be ready for adoption for a couple of months, but you can fill out an adoption application now because I'll be going to my forever home soon because I'm so cute! Or that's what the HHPP Angels say...
Houston Homeless Pet Project ("HHPP")is a core group of dedicated dog rescue volunteers who, between us, have over 50 years of experience in rescue in the Houston metro area. We are the rescue of last resort for those good Samaritans who find homeless dogs and are just trying to help. We are also the rescue of last resort for those hopeless animals that find themselves out of time at local shelters. We provide rescue care, rehabilitative services, foster care and adoption placement to abandoned and stray dogs in the Houston metro area. HHPP is an all-volunteer, foster based rescue. We don't have a shelter and rely on foster homes to provide our rescues with warm, loving home environments until they can adopted by permanent families.
Our adoption events are held all over Houston. Please visit our website at www.hhpprescue.org under the Upcoming Events tab to see where we'll be next.
Our Adoption Process...
1. Complete an Adoption Application 2. Include veterinarian information and two personal references 3. A home visit is scheduled 4. A meet and greet is scheduled so your new family member can meet the rest of the family 5. If the meet and greet goes well, the adoption contract is signed and the adoption fee is paid.
Adoption fees are $200 for adult dogs and $250 for puppies one year and less.
