My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Missy is a gorgeous girl! She's an 18 month old red heeler mix who came to CARES as an owner surrender. She is extremely sweet and super friendly! She got very little food and attention at her previous home and she is making up for lost time! She now walks well on a leash, is perfectly crated trained and loves indoors! She gets along with all the other dogs here and loves to run and play! Missy is a real gem and needs to go to that special home where she will live as an inside pet and be spoiled! Missy is good with horses as well (she does't chase and generally stays out of their way). Missy adores attention and likes to sit quietly and watch tv while being scratched. At 18 months old, Missy is about 40 pounds. This girl is smart and quick to pick up on thing and should housetrain with ease if on a schedule. If you think Missy would make a great companion for you, contact us at info.caresga@gmail.com for an adoption application. You can also download an app on our website www.caresga.org. We do ship up north and all over so please ask details. A vet reference is required to ensure a great home (this means you have to have owned a dog/cat before so we can verify their level of care).

Adoption fees for puppies are $300, adults dogs are $250 and senior dogs are $150. This includes each animal being current on age appropriate vaccinations including DHPPL, bordetella and rabies, de-wormed for any internal parasites (round worms, hook worms, tape worms and whipworms), tested heart-worm negative (if positive, they are treated), tested negative for tick borne diseases, spayed/neutered, implanted with a mini micro-chip and have been examined by a veterinarian to certify that they are healthy. All animals are also on a monthly regime of flea and heartworm medication. Lifetime registration for the micro-chip is included with the adoption fee. In addition, each adopter will go home with a fitted collar, tags, a bag of dog food the pet has been on, Forti-Flora, and an adoption kit filled with valuable information and coupons as well as other various treats or toys as promotions become available. All puppy adoptions include a puppy training book, the Puppy Primer by Patricia McConnell, to help ensure a smooth transition for your new family member.

We ask that you consider an additional donation on top of this pet's adoption fee. This money will go directly into our Adoption Fund to be used exclusively for rescuing and caring for other pets in need. Many pets we take in have very high vet bills to get them healthy and adoptable for the public - much higher than their adoption fees. We receive no government funding and rely solely on donations from our community and caring adopters to continue our rescue efforts!
