Tony's Story...
Tony is super cute and very friendly! He is playful, enjoys toys and running with the other foster dogs. He gets along great with everyone and is easy going. This super smart boy is quick to pick up on things...he already walks well on a leash and is perfectly crate trained. He does well in a fenced yard for interactive play time. This boy is approximately 5.5 months old and weighs 30 pounds. He has a gorgeous black coat that is super soft. Tony would excel in a basic obedience class as he is not super hyper and he is quick to learn. He was rescued out of a high kill shelter just in time. Fully vetted, he is now ready for his forever home. Tony is looking for an inside home where he will live as part of the family and get the training and attention needed to develop into a good doggy citizen. If you love beautiful black labs, contact info.caresga@gmail.com for an adoption application. You can also download one from our website www.caresga.org. We adopt up north and all over so just ask us for details. A vet reference is required for all adoptions to ensure a great home (this means you have to have had a dog/cat so that we can verify history of medical care).
Adoption fees for puppies are $300, adults dogs are $250 and senior dogs are $150. This includes each animal being current on age appropriate vaccinations including DHPPL, bordetella and rabies, de-wormed for any internal parasites (round worms, hook worms, tape worms and whipworms), tested heart-worm negative (if positive, they are treated), tested negative for tick borne diseases, spayed/neutered, implanted with a mini micro-chip and have been examined by a veterinarian to certify that they are healthy. All animals are also on a monthly regime of flea and heartworm medication. Lifetime registration for the micro-chip is included in each adoption fee. In addition, each adopter will go home with a fitted collar, tags, a bag of dog food the pet has been on, Forti-Flora, and an adoption kit filled with valuable information and coupons as well as other various treats or toys as promotions become available. All puppy adoptions include a puppy training book, the Puppy Primer by Patricia McConnell, to help ensure a smooth transition for your new family member.
We ask that you consider an additional donation on top of this pet's adoption fee. This money will go directly into our Adoption Fund to be used exclusively for rescuing and caring for other pets in need. Many pets we take in have very high vet bills to get them healthy and adoptable for the public - much higher than their adoption fees. We receive no government funding and rely solely on donations from our community and caring adopters to continue our rescue efforts!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tony, a Cedartown Retriever (Unknown Type)/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Retriever (Unknown Type)/Labrador Retriever for sale in Cedartown, or seeking a Retriever (Unknown Type)/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Cedartown.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Cedartown already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Cedartown breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Retriever (Unknown Type)/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Retriever (Unknown Type)/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Cedartown paves the way for another one to be saved.
