My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Shadow transferred into Forget Me Not from the Colville Tribal Pound, along with her friend Daisy (who has since been adopted). They lost their prior home because they killed some chickens, so we know Shadow has a healthy prey drive; as such, we don't recommend her for homes with cats, small furries, or smallish poultry/livestock. Other than that, she is a dream dog! The vet estimated her age at about 5; Shadow is a Great Pyrenees mix, possibly with some Labrador or Golden Retriever in the mix. She is a big girl - over 100 pounds - but has very good manners and doesn't jump up or knock people over. She is a little bit selective about her dog friends, so will need patient introductions to join a family with an existing dog.

Shadow is housetrained and very treat motivated - from not knowing any commands when she arrived, today she knows "sit" and is fairly consistent with it. You should be able to teach her all sorts of commands with positive training and treats.

Shadow should integrate easily into pretty much any type of home. She has not shown any inappropriate chewing or excessive barking, even when in her shelter kennel, and likes all sorts of people, including children. She is receptive to leash training and doesn't usually pull, so should be fairly easy to take for walks even though she is big. She is very affectionate and would love a home with lots of attention available. Although her breed is known for independence and a willingness to live as outside dogs, Shadow has no interest in staying outside and would much rather be wherever the humans are.

Shadow comes with a 30-day money-back trial adoption period.

Spay/neuter, worming, microchip and all age-appropriate shots are always completed before placement, and are included in the adoption fee (suggested minimum $95; more gratefully accepted!)

Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! We have monthly transports to both the Seattle area and Spokane, delivering adopted pets to their new owners. If you can add a little to your payment to help us cover our volunteer driver's expenses, that would be great!
