Fred's Story...

Meet Fred, an 8 week old Jack Russell/Rat Terrier mix.  Fred is a snuggle bug but also enjoys playing with his toys.  Jack's dad is an 8 lb Jack Russell and his mom is a 5 lb Rat Terrier, so we do not expect him to get bigger than 10 lbs.  He is good with other dogs and kids and is working on house and crate training.  Jack will be ready for his forever home on Friday, October 21.

Our adoption fee is $250.00 which includes 3 rounds of shots, spay/neuter, microchip and 1 month of heartworm preventative. If you are interested, please complete the   Adoption Application  on our website at  www.a4apetpantry.org

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Fred, a Barnhart Jack Russell Terrier/Rat Terrier puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Jack Russell Terrier/Rat Terrier for sale in Barnhart, or seeking a Jack Russell Terrier/Rat Terrier puppy from a breeder in Barnhart.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Barnhart already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Barnhart breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Jack Russell Terrier/Rat Terrier breeders who help with Jack Russell Terrier/Rat Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Barnhart paves the way for another one to be saved.
