My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Updated bio 10-7-16 Precious is an adorable, truly precious 6 pound Yorkie angel girl. She is 11-years-old, but looks just like a puppy. Precious is being cared for and fostered in Leesburg, FL.

Precious's adoption fee is $95 and includes all vetting (neuter/spay, dental cleaning, immunizations, microchip and chip registration). A Vet reference, personal references, and home visit are required for adoption. You may apply to adopt Precious by going to our website at www.unitedyorkierescue.org and completing the adoption application located on our home page.

Precious is our little angel because we are pretty sure those ears of hers could help her take off and fly. She is the sweetest, happiest, and funniest little dog ever. Precious is a great eater, a great sleeper, and just loves her people more than anything else, except maybe her breakfast.

Precious actually knows some tricks. She knows Sit, Lie Down, and Bedtime. When you say Bedtime to her she gets up from wherever she is and puts herself to bed in her crate, which she loves. She is such a smart little girl.

Precious has some special needs. She is in the early stages of kidney disease, but she is very stable and healthy. Her kidney levels are just on the other side of high, so low high, and have been like that since she came to United Yorkie Rescue three months ago. She is on an Rx kidney food that is purchased from the vet. This food is no more costly than any good, high quality, no grain dog food. She also gets a supplement called Azodyl, which can also be purchased at the vet. It is less than $1 a day. It is sold as a 90-day supply for only about $23 a month or $70 for the 3 months.

No one can guarantee how long Precious has, (or any dog, or person, has for that matter), but the vet believes since her levels have been stable, her appetite is very good, and she is active and spunky, she has years left as long as she is kept on her KD food combined with the help of the Azodyl. She should get a urinalysis and kidney blood test, which checks her BUN and Creatinine levels, every three months. Precious is so worth every penny to keep her healthy and give her the years she does have left. Precious is all up to date on her vaccinations and in every other way a healthy little girl.

Precious is very devoted to her people and would prefer to be an only dog, if possible. She needs an adult only home with someone home most of the time, since she needs to be taken out frequently or she will have accidents in the house. She would be the perfect companion for a senior or anyone who wants a dog to sit on their lap, cuddle with them, and be their constant companion. Precious doesn’t like be outside too much, so a yard is not necessary for her. Precious will come with a 90 day supply of Azodyl and 12 cans of KD food, which she loves, and a crate if needed.

It will take a very special person to give Precious her final, forever home where she can rest her head for as long as she has. Please consider giving that to Precious. The love and gratitude you will receive back from her with be priceless
