Pepe (renamed Chimi) was adopted 2 years ago and has had a happy life since then! Unfortunately he is a Rover dog again due to some changes in the life of his adopter. Below is a letter from his foster describing him.
Chimi (aka Pepe'-RR name) came into our lives as a birthday gift for my sweet 88-year-old mom two years ago, and he has been a sweet friend and companion to her. Unfortunately, as my mother's dementia worsened she became unable to care for him, and he has lived in our home for the last 6 months.
Chimi loves our 3 dogs, and is confident and playful. He is gentle and loving towards my four-year-old and one-year-old grandsons. Unlike some of his breed, he is very tolerant of the poking and prodding and follows them around asking for more. He is such a kind doggie. So good with kids. I think he would thrive in a home even with little kids. He's quite a sturdy little guy.
Chimi's favorite hobbies include playful wrestling with his four-legged friends and chasing tennis balls. He's as fast as a speeding bullet and usually beats everyone to the ball. Chimi is a great family dog, however he seemed equally happy as an only child spending hours on my mother's lap, or curled up in the small of her back during nap-time. Chimi was initially very wary of men, but tolerates them well now. He responds perfectly to the command ''go to your place'' and will go and stay in his designated spot until summoned. He is very responsive to gentle commands, but cowers with harsh words, especially from men.
I would like to request the opportunity to "borrow" Chimi about once a month to allow a visit with my mother. Accordingly, someone living in the general area would be highly preferred.
This sweet little boy deserves another loving home. If you think you would be a good fit for him apply to meet him today!
