Parker's Story...
Meet Parker, a sweet hound looking for a loving, responsible and permanent home. Parker has lots and lots of energy and wants to go for long walks/hikes everyday. He really loves to play tug of war and keep away with his toys. Parker is highly treat motivated and knows some basic commands. He is very smart and could easily learn much more. Hounds like to bay so an apartment is probably not the ideal living situation. A house out in the county with lots of room to explore would be preferred. Parker can live with respectful children 8 years and older. A very confident cat might be okay. Parker can live with another dog but will have to meet any potential house mates to assure they get along. As you can see Parker is a bit on the chunkier side and could really use a high quality low calorie diet to help him shed some weight. If you are interested in meeting Parker, please fill out an application at the front desk.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Parker, a Bellingham Bluetick Coonhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Bluetick Coonhound for sale in Bellingham, or seeking a Bluetick Coonhound dog from a breeder in Bellingham.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bellingham already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bellingham breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Bluetick Coonhound breeders who help with Bluetick Coonhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bellingham paves the way for another one to be saved.
