Harlequin's Story...
My name is Harlequin and I'm a sweet 1.5 year old Staffordshire Terrier mix. I'm a medium girl around 50 pounds which is just the right size for snuggling. I had a bit of a rough start in life so I'm learning now to be a normal dog. I am working hard on my house training, crate training, and walking nicely on my leash. There is just so much I haven't seen and I want to go fast, fast, fast! Obedeince training would be a great idea to help me socialize and learn manners. I am busy and energetic so it will be important for my forever family to make sure I get the exercise I need every day. One of my favorite ways to exercise is by playing fetch. Cats in the house are a bad idea since I like to scare them. Since I'm bouncy and excited, kids need to be old enough to watch out when I'm zoomy. A high fence might not be a bad idea since I'm learning about the world around me. I like to de-fuzz a good tennis ball but other than that, I'm not a destroyer. I am up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and spayed. My adoption fee is $200. Apply to adopt me here: https://rescueofhope.com/adoption-application/. Thanks!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Harlequin, a Grand Rapids American Staffordshire Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Staffordshire Terrier for sale in Grand Rapids, or seeking a American Staffordshire Terrier dog from a breeder in Grand Rapids.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Grand Rapids already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Grand Rapids breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Staffordshire Terrier breeders who help with American Staffordshire Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Grand Rapids paves the way for another one to be saved.
