Bear (Neutered)'s Story...
"Bear" is a sweet 13-year old male Chocolate Labrador Retriever mix who was surrendered by his owner on October 5, 2016 along with several friends who shared his previous home "Bear" has a chocolate brown short smooth coat, a long tail, and an adorable face with a liver-colored nose, white shading on his muzzle, and large floppy ears. This older gentleman has a friendly, easygoing personality, and he enjoys attention and soothing baby-talk. "Bear" walks gently on a leash (albeit very slow). He has some skin issues (possibly flea allergies) and is missing a bit of hair on his back. "Bear" also has a soft growth on his chest, so we have listed him temporarily as a 'Special Needs Dog' "Bear" weighs 52.6 lbs., and he has been neutered. UPDATE: We took new photos of "Bear" on November 16, 2016 and have posted them. He has been treated for his flea allergy and also been enjoying some great food since his arrival, and "Bear" looks (and feels) like a different dog than he did on October 5th

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bear (Neutered), a Marietta Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Marietta, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Marietta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marietta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marietta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marietta paves the way for another one to be saved.
