Bear (Neutered)'s Story...
"Bear" is a handsome 5-year old male Shepherd mix who arrived at the HSOV on October 12, 2016 by a Good Samaritan who brought him to the safety of our shelter along with "Ranger" (a 9-year old black neutered male Labrador Retriever. mix). Both of these boys were wearing collars with their names written on them, but unfortunately there wasn't a phone number, dog tag, or id tag to enable us to locate their owner.

"Bear" has a tan short smooth coat with white markings on his chest/legs, a long tail, and a beautiful face with a slender muzzle and large erect ears. This gorgeous guy was a pleasure to be with and to photograph. "Bear" has a happy, friendly personality and was the perfect gentleman when one of our kennel techs had him outdoors for his photo session. He walks well on a leash and enjoys attention. "Bear" weighs 67.2 lbs., and he has already been neutered. He is now available for adoption since he was not reclaimed.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bear (Neutered), a Marietta Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shepherd (Unknown Type) for sale in Marietta, or seeking a Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Marietta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marietta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marietta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shepherd (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Shepherd (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marietta paves the way for another one to be saved.
