My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Princess, a white with black Shih Tzu, and her brother, Rascal, were rescued from a puppy mill. Their date of birth is 11/5/15. Currently they each weigh around 9 pounds. They have been fostered together since their rescue and they are such a joy to watch as they play, romp, sleep, just do everything together. If you are thinking about getting a dog and maybe getting a second one later, don't wait. These two are a perfect complement to each other. Princess uses puppy pads most of the time now. She gets along well with other dogs, but loves being with people. Princess is a calm, loving little girl and loves to play with her toys too! Princess has been spayed, is up to date on her shots and is heartworm negative and being kept on preventive.
The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers.

After you submit your application please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home.

Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.
