Era (Spayed)'s Story...
"Era" is a beautiful 3-month old female Tuxedo kitten who was brought to the HSOV on October 4, 2016 by a compassionate individual who surely saved this little girl's life. That kind gentleman had seen this tiny kitten fending for herself in order to survive and intervened when others were throwing rocks at her to chase her away :( To say that "Era" was frightened when we first saw her is an understatement :( :( Our kennel techs gave her extra TLC the first week she was in our shelter, and she began responding to their kindness. Era's coat was so grimey and dingy that she appeared to be gray-and-black. Our kennel techs have gained her trust and have given her several baths so that her coat is once again snowy white-and black :) "Era" has blossomed into a sweet affectionate kitten who loves to snuggle in your arms.. This beautiful baby girl has a black-and-white short smooth coat in a tuxedo pattern, a long tail, and an adorable face with green/gold eyes, extra-long white whiskers, and a patch of white on the left side of her muzzle. She was spayed on October 12, 2016 so that she would be available for immediate adoption/foster/rescue. "Era" is very tiny and weighs 2.8 lbs. Rescue groups may contact our Feline Rescue Coordinator via email (sharonpaul2@suddenlink.net). We can usually help with transportation and also provide combo testing without charge to rescues/fosters.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Era (Spayed), a Marietta Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Marietta, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Marietta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marietta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marietta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marietta paves the way for another one to be saved.
