Schweppes and his siblings were born at Austin Animal Center, and have been living in foster ever since. They have been living the puppy life of food, frolic and snoozes. Of his litter, he is the cuddle bug.
Schweppes loves people. He enjoys playing with his siblings, too, but only in short bursts between cuddles. More than the others, he wants to make sure he is as close to his people as possible at all times. He does have his playful and curious moments, and he especially loves climbing things. Of course, his favorite thing to climb is people. He would prefer to sit on your shoulder all day, watching the world go by. That will obviously not work so well when he gets older. But right now, its pretty darn cute.
Schweppes is still young, so he will need all of the typical puppy training, such as house, leash and obedience. He has been living with some older kids and enjoys playing with them, though he might be a tad rambunctious for wee little ones. We have not observed him around cats. Schweppes would really prefer a home where there is some company in it most of the time. Having people around is his first choice, but he would also take a friendly dog to pal around with.
If you love to cuddle, Schweppes would like to interview you for the role of Big Spoon. Come meet him!
And remember, all APA adoptions come with free behavior assistance through APA's behavior team. And when you adopt a dog from APA, you are saving not one, but two lives - the life of the dog you're bringing into your home, and the next dog APA can save in the adopted dog's place.
