My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Red and here is my story:
I am called Red because I look like a little red fox. I even have white markings on my face. My fur coat is very thick and soft.
My owner dropped me off while he was going away and promised to come back and get me. To my disbelief he never came back. That is how I ended up at animal shelter.
I loved my person and became gravely depressed. I would lay at the back of my kennel all day and night. Fortunately, the staff and foster lady knew I needed a foster home. Each day at my foster parents I become more comfortable. I have stopped asking to go out so I could look for my person. I have realized he is not coming back and I need to begin with my new life.
Not surprisingly, I now suffer from anxiety so I need someone who will be home with me more than gone. I become very attached to my person and can be protective of them. No kids, and preferably no other dogs. I have not been exposed to cats.
I need someone who will not kennel me and let me sleep in their human bed with them. I love car rides and so far seem potty trained. My walks are very important to my mental health, walking decreases my anxiety. My current mommy and daddy make sure I get walked 3 times a day. After my walk I go right to the kitchen to “sit” and get my soft treat. I’m happy now and I wag my tail constantly. I also love playing with toys.
There are just a few last things you should know about me. I am vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. I do need to get a good dental cleaning. I'm a 7 year old, male, Chihuahua.
If you are very special and can meet my needs, please contact my foster mom Gretchen. Her cell is 734-320-3867.
