Ruby's Info...

I am already spayed, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with dogs, and not good with cats.

Ruby's Story...
Ruby is a magnificent 11.5 month old purebred Golden Retriever. This darling girl was purchased from a pet store as a puppy and recently surrendered to ANCAR because she was too active for her family, who has thought Goldens were much more mellow dogs.. True to her breed, Ruby is fabulous with other dogs and kids but needs a dog savvy family, preferably one who knows the breed, who will set limits for her. Ruby is not a dog who will be happy just laying around the house, and she needs a home with a fenced yard and a another playful dog. She is house trained and working on her basic commands and her leash walking (she doesn't pull if walked with a harness). Ruby enjoys carrying her toys around and playing with her canine foster brother. This is a charming girl who will excel in a home that has the time and space for an active girl.

Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (www.anewchancear.org). We are a 501c3, tax deductible, organization. We are an all volunteer group, so after submitting your application, if you don't hear back from us within a few days, please e-mail us at adoption@anewchancear.org. Be sure to read about the adoption process (http://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-process/) on our website, so you'll know what to expect and fill out all fields on the adoption application (http://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/) or we won't be able to process it. We are a foster-based rescue and do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. Please do not contact us requesting a meeting with a dog because we are an all-volunteer organization, and these requests tie up our volunteers who could instead be checking applications.

As you can imagine, we are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (http://anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We do not have a shelter facility and we provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering, and microchipping before transporting our dogs. Then, we provide whatever follow up care is necessary while they are in foster care. All of this is very expensive and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources, so if you can find room in your heart to help us, with any amount, we are truly grateful (http://anewchancear.org/help/donate/). We are a 501c3 organization, so all donations are tax-deductible. It is only through your kindness and that of supporters like you that we are "changing lives...one tail at a time" by providing our dogs with "A New Chance." (www.anewchancear.org)

Thanks so much.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ruby, a Bedford Hills Golden Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever for sale in Bedford Hills, or seeking a Golden Retriever dog from a breeder in Bedford Hills.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bedford Hills already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bedford Hills breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever breeders who help with Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bedford Hills paves the way for another one to be saved.
