Hi, My name is Merl. I don't remember much from before I got here except I was alone most of the time and there wasn't much to eat. Since Ive been here at Marley's world I have learned so much. Paw is firm but gentle and loving and I trust him. I discovered that I will get food every single morning and evening. I learned to be quiet at night most of the time. Paws friends come and visit me and if Paw says they are OK I am all wags and wiggles. That is a lot of wiggle by the way because I weigh over a hundred pounds. I am the same with other dogs which is good because around here there are always new dogs. I have even learned to sit and wait while Paw scoops up my food and won't budge till he tells me to. If you would like a big red dog whit a coat that is soft and thick, one who is friendly and loving with those he knows then come see me. Hope you will hang out a while so we can get to know each other. If you have any questions you can call Paw at 870-291-0365 or email him at kylepigman@verizon.net. You can follow the antics here at Marley's World on Facebook of learn more about ICARE at icare-ark.com.

About Izard County Animal Rescue Effort (ICARE)

About Our Rescue Group...

ICARE was started in 2003 by a handful of people concerned about the number of abandoned dogs & cats and lack of care for others. By the end of the year, ICARE was a growing organization of volunteers, received non-profit status, and doing fundraisers in order to finance shelter, food, & vet care for homeless and unwanted animals in this rural county. Still an all volunteer organization, ICARE takes in homeless, sick/injured animals. We take care of their needs, get them in good health, spayed& neutered, and put them up for adoption. Fundraisers and donations are what keeps us financially level but, sadly, the need is always greater than the money to take care of them. But when we receive the pictures & followups from adopters and see how happy the pets are it makes it all worth while. These happy tails gives us a renewed burst of energy and determination to save as many pets as possible.

Come Meet Our Pets...

All of our adoptable pets are in foster homes. Please contact us with any questions about pets you see. We will be happy to send more pictures, tell you about the pet's history, personality, and put you in touch with the foster family so you can get first hand information on the cat or dog.

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption fee in the state of Arkansas is $75. The fee for out-of-state adoptions is $95. An application can be found on our website, www.icare-ark.com which can be filled out and submitted online. If approved for adoption, we require the adopter to sign a contract of care and, if pet is not spayed/neutered, a spay/neuter compliance form. We will help to arrange transport but adopter is responsible for transport fees.
