Ozzie is a lovely 5 year old black-tri male mini Aussie. (The breed has been formalized and is now called Miniature American Shepherd). Ozzie has been an indoor dog and is housetrained. He is up to date on all shots and is neutered. Ozzie is very affectionate and travels well. He is good with new people he meets in his home and is a bit shy with them when he's outside the home. He will go into his crate on his own if he is feeling nervous. Ozzie loves to be petted and seems to enjoy a good grooming. Adoption fee is $150.

THIS IS A COURTESY POSTING to help re-home this dog. The dog is with his current owners and they will place Ozzie in his new home. Please call (505) 877-7352 if you're interested in Ozzie.

About Zia Australian Shepherd Club Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

ZIA Australian Shepherd Club of New Mexico became an affiliate of the Australian Shepherd Club of America (ASCA) on January 1, 1999. Our mission is to support the activities of ASCA by promoting and sponsoring a variety of local trials and competitions - mostly agility, but also conformation and obedience. Our membership has earned numerous championships in all of these venues and often represents our affiliate at national ASCA competitions. As part of our club"s activities and because we LOVE Australian Shepherds, Zia Australian Shepherd Club supports Aussie Rescue.

Our Adoption Process...

Our screening process includes one or more phone conversations with adopters, and if it seems like a match between potential adopter and dog, is followed by a meet and greet. Depending on the situation, a home visit may be part of the process.

Once it is clear the adopter and the dog are a match, the adopter fills out an adoption agreement. The essentials of the agreement say that the new owner will care for the dog physically and emotionally, the dog will be an indoor/outdoor dog, the dog will receive regular veterinary care, and that if the dog needs to move to a new home the new owner will contact Zia first.

Adoption fees vary - typically between $150 and $250 depending on the level of medical attention and other expenses the dog required.
