Handsome Moose is looking for his forever home.

Moose is just 2 ½ years old and neutered.

He is a very big boy weighing in around 130 pounds. Moose came to us with a bite history due to resource guarding. In mid August Moose moved to a training facility in the Norfolk VA area. His trainers work with him daily and Moose is making great progress. Even though he has improved and will continue to improve Moose cannot move in to just any forever home. Moose thrives when he has a firm leader, defined rules and structure.

Small children in the home probably not the best match for Moose, teenagers should be fine as long as they are leaders for Moose and will help him follow the rules.

Moose is a teenager, he needs exercise, his forever home would need to be able to walk him several times a day.

Normally as a rescue we do not require our adopters to be in the same area as where a dog in our care is located, with Moose it would be preferred his forever home be close enough to the Norfolk VA area to work with his trainers. The time his adopters spend with Moose and his trainers will be invaluable. The adopters can see exactly how Moose has been trained, what has worked for him and how to continue working with him.

If his forever home does not continue on the same path with him, he will begin to resource guard again and he may very well bite again.

Moose is full of personality, eager to learn, eager to please and a big love bug.
