Hey there! I'm Sammy, and I am an 8.5-year-old Labrador mix weighing 52-pounds. I have soft, silvery fur and big brown puppy-dog eyes. I was surrendered to the SPCA of Texas on July 26 because my previous owner no longer had time to care for me. When I first arrived at the shelter, I was in rough shape. After receiving the best medical care and lots of TLC, I am feeling better than ever and can't wait to find my forever home! I am very friendly, love attention from people and like to play outside. I love going on walks - I have been around and know where I want to go and what I want to do! I really like exploring and following a trail. I like to have a brisk walk - I may be a senior, but I can still get around quite well (but you might need to help make sure I don't over do it). I also don't mind just sitting and watching through the fence. I adore being loved on and petted, especially behind my ears and on my neck, and will use my best puppy gaze to beg for more! I get along with other dogs and enjoy running and playing with them outside. I can be protective of my food, so I should be fed separately, away from other dogs. I love treats and will even sit or lie down in exchange for one! I am mostly laid-back and gentle, but do have my moments of puppy energy. If you're looking for a loyal, loving boy to stay by your side, I am the one for you! I have been neutered, microchipped, received a dental cleaning and all age-appropriate vaccinations. All I'm missing is a family to love for the rest of my days. My adoption fee is only $50, so come meet me today! I'll be waiting for you!
