Description: Brown and White Tabby

TOFFEE is a sweet, loving and playful kitty. She has a very outgoing personality and loves human interaction. Toffee meets you at the door when you come home. Then, she lays down on her back so you can rub her belly.

Toffee is also very curious and active. She loves playing with toys which keep her very busy. Toffee also likes following her foster mom around her home, proving her with lots of company. If you invite her, Toffee will join you for some cuddle time.

Toffee has such a friendly, playful temperament - she would do great with a family with kids. We haven't seen her interact with other cats or dogs so don't know how she would do with other family pets.

It's hard to believe that Toffee was abandoned outside with her three kittens (will be posted separately). It's a miracle Toffee and her kittens didn't get hit by cars or killed by foxes outdoors. Luckily, they weren't outside long before a kind person spotted them and made sure they were rescued. Safely in our care, Toffee is now ready for a forever home to call her own.

About SPCA of Northern Virginia

About Our Rescue Group...

The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals of Northern Virginia is a non-profit, all-volunteer, private organization established by local concerned citizens to rescue domestic animals from cruelty, neglect, and abandonment. We receive all our funding from membership dues, donations, and fundraising events. We are always striving to enlarge our animal rescue operations and expand our services to the community. Our voluntary Board of Directors, committee members, and volunteers are responsible for all SPCA activities. We do not have a shelter facility, and depend on foster parents to care for domestic animals until adoption.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our dogs are available to meet at twice monthly adoption events in Fairfax, VA.

Our cats are available to meet you in their foster homes
by appointment weeknights or weekends.

Our Adoption Process...

Please read our cat adoption guidelines (at We put a lot of financial and emotional support into our cats and want them placed in homes where they will be members of the family for the rest of their lives. Indoor cats, with care, can live up to 20 years. Not everyone agrees with all of our guidelines. Please read our explanations and talk to our volunteers. If you disagree with us, we suggest you adopt a cat from a different source such as a local shelter. When you adopt a cat from us, you must sign a legal contract stating that you will comply with our guidelines. The adoption fee is $150 for one cat and $250 for two.

For those interested in cat adoptions, all potential adopters must read our adoption guidelines (available on our website at, then meet the cat in person either at an Adoption Fair or in their foster home. We take applications only after you've met the cat and we both feel it's a good match.

All adopters interested in adopting a dog must meet the dog in person, and submit an application. A housecheck is done, and references are checked. If approved, the dog will be placed in the home for a two-week trial period, to make sure that it is a good "fit" for both people and dog. If it is, the adoption is finalized and the adoption fee is paid. We do not adopt outside of the Washington DC metro area.
