Facts about LT. DAN

  • Breed: Australian Cattle Dog Mix
  • Color: Tan/Yellow/Fawn - With Black
  • Age: Senior
  • Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
  • Sex: Male
A good samaritan saw a stray dog and decided to engage the dog to help him find his home. This stray had a surprise for his savior: this doggie only has three legs. The delightful Australian Cattle Dog mix was then brought to Home Fur Good to be looked over by the veterinarian and to help find his owners. The spirit in him was unfazed by his three-legged predicament, and he showed such good humor that he was named Lt. Dan. No owners have been located, so seven-year-old Lt. Dan is ready to find his forever home. He is the very definition of a Good Boy; he is crate trained, knows sit, and he gets very excited seeing the leash, knowing it is time to go out and explore. Lt. Dan is medium-sized at 37 pounds and the perfect best friend to greet you at the door. The adoption fee is $150 and includes spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit with our vet. Our adoption hours are Thursday-Saturday from 11:00 am-4:00 pm, and Mondays by appointment, and we are located at 10220 N. 32nd Street (just south of Shea Blvd.) in Phoenix. We offer a low-cost vaccine clinic on Sundays from 11:00 am-2:30 pm, and a low-cost dental clinic on Wednesdays by appointment. Visit our website at for more information.

About Home Fur Good

About Our Shelter...

Home Fur Good is a non profit no kill animal shelter located in the NE Valley. We take a majority of our cats and dogs from County, many who have treatable medical conditions and would otherwise be put down. We assess physical and behavior and work with the cats/dogs to find the best suitable match. It is our goal that each cat or dog that comes to our shelter ultimately be placed in their "furever" homes.

We also operate a low cost vaccine and microchip clinic each Sunday. We want to help community be able to care for and keep their animals safe. We do not charge vet fee only fee for vaccine and microchip.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our Adoption Process...

Home Fur Good requires an approved application. We have trained adoption counselors to review and question any potential problems/issues with application. We do require an adoption fee which ranges for dogs $150-$275 and for cats $50-$100. All cats and dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and come with 30 days of pet health insurance.
If another dog or dogs are present in the household we require a meet and greet prior to adoption. All members of the household must be on board with adoption. We do not adopt our rescues out without meeting person that will be responsible - no "gift" adoptions. We contract that if cat/dog must be relinquished they are returned to us. If there is a change of ownership we must be kept informed who responsible party is. Fees are non refundable.
