Oreo's Story...
Up for adoption in Texas and New England: Oreo.
Dog, and CAT friendly!
Oreo is a "cream puff". He is just barely a year old, but he is very calm and composed. His approach with people is very gentle and loving. He will put his head on your lap and melt into you. Oreo is excellent with other dogs and cats.
He has no desire to chase anything or anyone. He is fully housebroken, and prefers to sleep on his blanket by your bed. Oreo is non-destructive in the house, and well mannered; his fosters have never heard him bark. He is still a little scared when walking on the leash on the sidewalk, but improving daily. Oreo rides well in the car, both in and out of a crate. Everyone who meets Oreo melts. He is that kind of a dog; one that tugs at your heart.
Oreo has bandages on his feet because he was born with dew claws and just had them removed when he was neutered.
Oreo is about 48 lbs, neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Oreo, a Austin Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Austin, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Austin.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Austin already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Austin breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Austin paves the way for another one to be saved.
