Waldo's Story...
Hi, my name is Waldo! I’m between 2-3 years old, and I’m in pretty good shape considering my rough past. When I first came into rescue, my hair was so long and matted you couldn’t even see my face, so my foster mom kept saying “Where’s Waldo?!” Now, a few visits to the vet and a fabulous haircut later, I’m almost as good as new. I’m a sweet Shih Tzu fellow, true to my breed: I want nothing more than to love and be loved, and to be wherever my person happens to be. I can stay alone for a few hours, but I’d prefer a home where someone is with me most of the time. I’m still a little nervous and insecure, so you might have to put up with me following you wherever you go! I’ve never lived inside before, so I’m learning what that’s all about. You’ll need to be a little patient with me as I learn my house manners. I get along with other dogs, I’m curious about people, and I LOVE to take walks!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Waldo, a Bellingham Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Bellingham, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Bellingham.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bellingham already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bellingham breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bellingham paves the way for another one to be saved.
