Candy's Story...
Candy
6-7 years old
Just as sweet as she sounds. Candy came to our shelter as a stray and no one came to claim her. Candy is such a loving girl and has yet to meet a stranger, only new best friends. She is at that perfect spot in life where she can keep up on a hike when you’re ready to go out but still content to crash on the couch when you’re ready to relax. Candy is the best of both worlds and waiting for a family to call her own.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Candy, a Fruit Heights Border Collie/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie/Labrador Retriever for sale in Fruit Heights, or seeking a Border Collie/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Fruit Heights.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Fruit Heights already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Fruit Heights breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Border Collie/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Fruit Heights paves the way for another one to be saved.
