Facts about MAGGIE

  • Breed: Maltese Mix
  • Color: White
  • Age: Young
  • Size: Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less
  • Sex: Female
  • ID#: 10685726-MAGGIE

We believe her to be a Maltese mix, hypo-allergenic - about 2 years old and full grown at about 7 lbs.  (At full weight, she should weigh a couple pounds more).

She was SO matted and knotted, she could not lift her head or walk with ease.  Her mats were to the skin and so thick, she was a captive in her own coat. Her nails were unbelievably long and she is so severely malnourished her bones are VISIBLE.

THOSE DAYS ARE OVER.  She is now in our care - has been bathed, shaved down to remove all the mats - vaccinated, blood tested and will soon be spayed & micro-chipped.

What a sweetheart and snuggle bug.  All she wants is to be touched and on your lap.  She has a hearty appetite and appears to be housebroken.  She is dog & kid friendly - but no clue about cats. But based on what I have seen of her so far, I somehow think she would be OK with them.

She is soon to be spayed and chipped - and is waiting for her new forever home.

Please email for an application:

Adoption fee:  $300

NOTE: Adoption fees are applied towards the vet bill: Exam, blood tests, vaccinations, fecal, worming, spay/neuter, and microchip. There is rarely anything left over, but if that happens, the monies get applied to the next or previous pet - who may have had to have an x-ray, be groomed or have a dental.

About Grateful Paws Dog & Cat Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a group of animal loving people who volunteer our time to save the life of a dog or cat in need. We are not breed specific but our ability to help depends entirely upon whether we have a foster home in which toi place the pet while we are looking for a new forever home.

We are entirely volunteer and none of us are compensated for our time or efforts. Monies donated go directy to the animals in our care.

Come Meet Our Pets...

For the most part, we reply primarily on the internet because we all work full-time jobs during the week!

We do not have a physical building - but we try to participate in Saturday adoption events from 11am - 3pm, on a regular basis. Please check our website for our most current calendar that shows where we will be.

It is always best to check the Upcoming Events page of our website

or give us a call to find out where we are going to be. Week nights 954-462-8840 eves after 8pm or on the week-ends: 954-579-3753.

Our EMAIL is monitored day and night, and is the BEST way to contact us.

Our Adoption Process...

We perform a telephone or in-person interview and ask our perspective adopters to complete an application for review by our board (generally takes a day or less). We want to meet the family, so we will come to your house to see where our pet will live. We do a vet check and if applicable, a landlord or condo association check as well. And finally, we accept an adoption donation that is applied towards the vet and care bill for that pet. The range is from $75 to $300.
