Fun video of Brutus:
On 10.1.16 I rescued a pittie that needs to be placed in a foster or furever home. He is a medium-large male, approx 70 pounds, black & white, young, very handsome.
'Brutus' was found on the street at a busy intersection in Highland Park, Los Angeles (at Marmion Way and Figueroa Street). No collar, no microchip, filthy dirty, and not neutered.
Flyers have been posted at the North Central Shelter; with Home Dog LA; and with Lost & Found Paws of Metro LA. No response, which is surprising because someone clearly owned him at some point. He is VERY friendly and playful, he loves humans and he loves to play with tennis balls. Brutus loves attention, even asking for belly rubs on occasion.
He seems to get overly excited around other dogs. (Honestly, Brutus does not strike me as aggressive, just very excitable and I am guessing some dogs would be turned off.) We are paying extra money to have him work with a professional trainer who is excellent with rescues and with 'bully' dogs.
Brutus has been neutered and had all his shots. He also had a dental, and was treated prophylactically for fleas & worms. The vet guesses he is about a year old, his teeth were in excellent condition, and he clearly has a 'puppy brain.'
He is being boarded now, I cannot bring him to my house. We already have 2 rescue pitties and we can't do 3. One of our pits is dog-aggressive, she ONLY tolerates her adoptive brother.
Brutus is a tank, VERY strong, and would benefit from some basic training for whoever takes him.
Foster or adoption application and house check are absolute requirements!
Thanks so much,
